Project Overview
In the heart of downtown Joliet, Blue Peak Tents provided a custom-engineered structure tent solution to help a major construction project continue throughout winter. The client needed a controlled environment to pour and cure concrete without delay – ensuring the project didn’t stall waiting for spring.
We installed a large structure tent with solid white walls, custom lighting, and heating support to enable 24/7 construction operations. The tent also allowed heavy machinery to operate under cover, keeping the build timeline intact despite winter weather.
Challenge
A large construction project in downtown Joliet needed to continue progress through the winter season. With concrete pours and curing planned during cold months, the team required a way to maintain proper temperatures and shelter their work from the elements. The site also needed to remain operational for heavy equipment and safe for crews working after dark – all within a tight downtown footprint.
Maintaining workflow and protecting critical phases of the project during colder months called for a reliable, weather-resistant solution.
Solution
We installed a large, engineered structure tent designed specifically for winter construction performance. The solution offered:
- Fully Enclosed Structure: Solid white walls protected the site from wind, snow, and freezing temps – creating a stable interior environment for concrete pouring and curing.
- Heavy Machinery Compatibility: The structure tent allowed full-size excavators and loaders to operate under cover.
- Interior Lighting: High-output lighting systems enabled round-the-clock work, even during early sunsets and overnight shifts.
- Staged Installation: The structure was planned in three sections, allowing contractors to progress with each phase of the project without delay.
- Privacy & Security: Enclosed walls kept activity hidden from the street, improving crew focus and minimizing distraction.
