Staking
Staking is typically done when the ground and clearance are suitable for securing guylines or stakes into the tent or baseplate. The necessity for guylines or stakes depends on the type of tent and its application. Ballasts
Ballasts are primarily used for certain types of tents, such as Structure Tents or Navi-Trac tents. They are also utilized when staking is impractical or not preferred, particularly on hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt, where staking would leave holes in the ground.
